Adding new doors to older homes is a challenge when it comes to installing door trim.

I want to add plinth blocks 9 or 10 to go with the 1 8 baseboard we want to add but i am not to sure on handling the flat stock as it sits now.
I like the look.
Adding a plinth block can be the perfect solution to cover any irregularities of the past and change the look of your baseboards and door casings.
The reveal is about a 1 4 inch in the inside of the door along the casing jam.
Measure and re confirm the trim dimensions and add to 1 1 25 to 2 5cm to each.
The recessed detail in the block echoes the paneled door and everything is painted a gorgeous dark gray for a cohesive look.

This door trim is overbearing and inappropriate in homes with a cleaner more modern style.
The tall baseboards line up with the top of the plinth blocks which then line up with the door trim.
How to duplicate this door trim idea.
The doors are are all trimmed with flat stock with rounded edges.
Keep in mind that a plinth block is there to offset the rest of the trim around the door so it needs to be slightly larger overall.
These trim pieces though plentiful still tend to be rather costly.
